Poi Pounders Letter of Intent Accepted by AAU!

Aloha!

AAU has recently accepted The East Oahu Poi Pounders letter of intent to participate in the 2010 AAU National Championships held at Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida! Last year, there were 26 teams from around the country participating in this event! This year The East Oahu Poi Pounders were among the first teams to sign up and receive an at-large bid to this tournament. So far, it looks like there could be a possible battle of the borders happening as the other team presently signed to participate are the New England Nor/Easters!

So far, it appears that the East Coast and faaaar Left Coast (Hawaii) are represented! The question is: Will the Nor/Easters "blow" through the tournament? Or, will the East Oahu Poi Pounders, "pound" their way to victory?

Sam's Club Keeaumoku Bake Sale This FRIDAY!

More scrumptious goodies perfect for breakfast, mid-morning or afternoon snack will be available for your generous donation! Last bake sale we had items such as mini banana loaves, mini pineapple loaves, and brownies.

Fundraiser Bake Sale at Sam's Club Keeaumoku

Don't forget to support your East Oahu Poi Pounders at their first bake sale fundraiser held at Sam's Club on Keeaumoku on Tuesday, October 26, 2009 from 6:30 am - ??? (while supplies last).

Some of the goodies that will be for sale include, mini banana loaves, mini pineapple loaves, brownies, cupcakes, cookies along with tons of other goodies, perfect to take home or for a mid-morning or afternoon snack.

If you are not able to stop by, don't worry you will have another chance to support your East Oahu Poi Pounders at a second bake sale on Friday, October 30, 2009! Same time...Same place!

Mahalo to all of you who helped our team get off to a great start in helping to make our first rib fundraiser a success! We hope to see you at future fundraisers as we continue on our path to the AAU National Youth Baseball Championships in Orlando, Florida in the summer of 2010.

A big Mahalos goes out to Joe Aloha Catering and Lunchwagon who donated labor, equipment and time to this event, AND Holy Nativity School who allowed the Poi Pounders to use their facility for our rib pick-up location!

Announcing Team Colors

On Friday night September 25, The East Honolulu Poi Pounders fitted for their uniforms and announced their team colors. In the tradition of Hawaii baseball, the Poi Pounders will be wearing the former colors of the University of Hawaii baseball program.

The colors that the 2010 East Oahu Poi Pounders will be wearing to the Orlando tournament are green and white trimmed in orange.

HI-5 Fundraising

The East Honolulu Poi Pounders announce HI-5 recycling fundraising in an effort to do our part for our environment! Please let your family, relatives and friends know about this environmentally friendly way to help the Poi Pounders fundraise for their trip to Orlando next summer by saving thier recyclable cans, bottles.

Just let people who wish to participate in this recycling fundraiser program to let us know when their recycling is ready for pick up by emailing us at ehpoipounders@gmail.com and we will arrange with one of our team members parents for pick up. Or they can bring thier recycling down to our rib pick up fundraisers for drop off.
